We did one of our midweek runs on Felix, out for groper then in for tarakihi and a dive for crays, I turned around from rummaging amongst the rocks and was buzzed by a kingi, this kingi. Back on the boat on hearing the news a livebait was sent out on the only suitable gear around, a groper rod with 80lb braid and an old wire trace I use to catch cuttas for bait, real sophisticated we are here in Wellington, well the kingi didnt care about all that rubbish he just took the bait as soon as it went down, quite a tussle in the shallow water but with a bit of care and brute force at the right time and up she came. Joost here was a happy chappie
